Flash media streaming ready for customer testing

Well, we didn't meet our projected date, but the good news is that we are finally ready for customers to begin testing flash streaming. Flash media streaming goes beyond traditional flash content and introduces true streaming. The streaming server behind our flash streaming service is Wowza Media Server Pro. With this service, you can broadcast in high quality formats including h.264 high definition and MPEG-TS (for broadcast and IPTV providers).

Our flash streaming is a combination of web hosting and streaming. The great thing about this will be that you can stream your flash content, and make it available, without having two separate copies. (With our Windows media service, if you want to make media downloadable, you have to host it separately on a website as well.) This means you can podcast and stream from the same file!

Additionally, with the flash player's 99% mature market penetration (US, Canada, Europe and Japan), and 97.1% market penetration in emerging markets, your potential audience is nearly everyone on the planet with an internet connection.

We plan to test this service with a few customers, for 1-2 weeks maximum, and then the service will be rolled out for everyone.
