Problems with our website

We had an interesting pair of problems today that prevented access to our website.

First, our mediaserve.com domain name expired. We purchased this domain at auction last year when the company name changed, and it wasn't supposed to expired until July. Whois queries showed the expiration date to be July 4th. Network Solutions, which was still the registrar, as we hadn't yet transfered the domain completely in-house, had a different date internally and expired the domain prematurely.

Network Solutions is investigating the discrepancy, and we've paid the renewal to get the website back online. (We've also started the transfer so we can pull this in-house and not have this problem again.)

Subsequent to this problem, our data center experienced power problems in two server rooms. Luckily only two servers were involved, the one which hosts ONLY our website, and another shared web server. Luckily, the shared web server was brought back on line relatively quickly, but the server running mediaserve.com took much longer.

At this time, mediaserve.com is back online and everything should be back to normal. We apologize for any problems this has caused our customers today.
