I'm getting errors from bounce handling, what can I do?

If you are hosting your website with us, and attempting to configure bounce handling for a mailbox created on your website hosted with us, you may receive an error similar to this, from the bounce handling process:

Unable to log in using the details provided, the server returned this error message: Certificate failure for linux40.cqservers.com: self signed certificate: /C=US/ST=Unknown/L=Unknown/O=Unknown/OU=Unknown/
CN=linux40.cqservers.com/emailAddress=ssl@linux40.cqservers.com
Please check the details and try again.

If you receive this error, log into NewsletterServe, edit your mailing lists, and in the bounce processing details, check the option which reads "Yes, use extra mail settings", and in the "Extra Mail Settings" field enter this value:

/novalidate-cert

Use the "Test Bounce Settings" button to ensure the system can connect to your bounce mailbox.

If you are not hosting your bounce mailbox with us, but are having similar problems which are not resolved by the above, here are three more settings you can try, one at a time, until the bounce mailbox can be accessed:

/notls
/nossl
/notls/nossl
