How do I change my domain name's dns servers?

After transferring a domain to us for hosting, or if you wish to point your domain name to another hosting company, you must change the dns servers associated with your domain name.

To change the dns server for a domain name registered with us, follow these steps:

1. Log in to your account at http://www.mediaserve.com/clientarea.php

2. Click the MY DOMAINS tab at the top of the page.

3. Click the "View Details" button next to the domain for which you wish to view or change contact information.

4. On the domain details page, you'll see the dns servers listed. Edit them as necessary, and click the "Save Changed" button.

If you receive the error message "Domain Status does not allow this operation", you need to uncheck the "Registrar lock" checkbox below the nameserver fields, save changes, and then change the nameservers. Relock the domain afterwards to prevent unauthorized transfer.

Once you've changed your domain name's dns servers, it will take anywhere from a few hours to a few days for the change to completely propagate.
